Event Overview

10th Edition Africa Fintech Forum 2026

The Africa Fintech Forum 2027 brings together global tech innovators, financial institution executives, Central Bank regulators, and venture capitalists in Nairobi—East Africa’s premier technology hub. As Kenya shifts from single-platform mobile wallet dominance toward a unified, API-driven Open Finance framework, the summit provides a strategic platform to define the future of African digital trade, automated banking, and cross-border settlement.
The forum addresses the critical transition from closed wallet systems to Account-to-Account (A2A) open banking rails, examining how Kenya’s National Payment System framework and the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act (VASPA) are operationalizing regulated digital assets, stablecoins, and PISP/AISP licensing. Key discussions focus on eliminating foreign exchange bottlenecks by integrating the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) with regional gross settlement systems (KEPSS), while defending digital channels against synthetic identities and AI deepfakes using national biometric infrastructures like Maisha Namba. Additionally, the event explores the rise of agentic AI for real-time underwriting and microwealth management, cloud-native core migration for legacy banks, embedded climate finance for agricultural supply chains, and alternative credit scoring for informal MSMEs. Ultimately, the program convenes key industry players to determine who will control customer relationships, data, and financial infrastructure across Africa by 2030.
